Peter Schmidt and Brian Eno created the Oblique Strategies Cards in order to help musicians and artists think laterally and get past blocks. I live a highly mobile life and don’t have a ton of room to carry extra stuff around with me. I also often am doing creative work on my computer, whether it’s coding, design, video, photography or writing. So, where better than to have these suggestions than sitting in digital format randomly delivered on my laptop?
This is a basic shell script that will deliver an oblique strategy at random with the command “Obls.” It is not for sale, and I have no idea what the dubious legality of sharing this publicly comprises, but here it is.
Enjoy.
PS, if you like my bash prompt, It’s a bit personal hack, and customized Oh-my-git.
